Patterson Hood - Come Back Little Star
Drive-By Truckers’ frontman Patterson Hood has a new solo album set for September release. The first to make the rounds, this track was cowritten by Kelly Hogan, who also sings harmony. Patterson told Rolling Stone “She began the lyrics as a song for our late, dear friend Vic Chesnutt, and I rewrote it with the intention of her recording it for her album. She ended up letting me put it on my album and it’s a highlight to me.” He also says this may be his favorite song he’s ever recorded — a high compliment from a man sitting on the Drive-By Truckers’ incredible catalog.
