Magnetic Fields - Heroes (David Bowie cover)
The lo-fi drone on this track plus Stephin Merritt’s deep dark vocals make for a worthy reinvention of a classic. I keep waiting for Bowie’s wail on the chorus, and I miss it. But the Magnetic Fields cover is of a different ilk that’s great in its own right.
