Bill Callahan - Baby’s Breath
This post over on TwentyFourBit reminded me that I haven’t written a lot about the album Bill Callahan released last Spring. “Baby’s Breath” is the centerpiece of the 7-track release. The spare composition of galloping guitar, a few accents, and Callahan’s steady vocals starts slow, races ahead, then slows down again and repeats as he weaves a haunting narrative of love and loss. Apocalypse is Callahan’s 14th full length album, and his 3rd since abandoning the name Smog. Don’t let the year end without giving it a listen.
