Make your own ringtone →
This is an awesome, super simple site (with horrible look-and-feel) for making your own ringtones from audio files. Someone posted this on Tumblr recently; sorry for no attribution, but I don’t remember whom.
I just made a few ringtones from Max Richter’s 24 Postcards in Full Colour — a goal of mine long-thwarted by Apple. Richter ringtones are finally mine, bitches!

Grizzlies!
I have an extra ticket for Grizzly Bear at The Troc in Philadelphia June 2. FREE if you can pick it up from me over the weekend in NYC or in Newtown Square on Monday. Email me or leave a comment if you want it.

Pitchfork: Best New Tracks playlist →
I love the Lala playlist on Pitchfork’s Best New Tracks page. It let’s you play all recently reviewed tracks continuously, without clicking on each one.
Enabling users to listen to a stream of new stuff without thinking about it is key to a good discovery engine. Streampad does a great job of this. I’m happy to see more services, including Tumblr, implementing this feature...
Boycott The Philadelphia Inquirer. →
Oh, nice work, Philly Inquirer. At a time when 1.) you’re struggling to survive, and 2.) there are *plenty* of well-qualified journalists on the job market, you hire one of the most polarizing figures in recent political history. Well played.
“As you may already know, the all-but-late and once-great Philadelphia Inquirer has, as of Sunday, enlisted a new regular monthly columnist to its...

– Topherchris’ actual recommendation letter from his previous boss to Tumblr.
Wow, may be the greatest letter of recommendation ever.
Comment from Linear A on the Colliding Web Sciences graphic:
hey, you know what i’m tired of? venn diagram abuse.
i mean seriously, what the hell does this “graph” even mean? math encompasses a large part of psychology, but never touches economics? and i count 13 circles, but only 12 headings. does the last one represent dark matter? the missing quark?
Good points. Also, the definition of...
