We are taking a handful of friends up on their offers to loan us some mics,...
– Gabriel Roth of Daptone Records
So you may recall that Daptone was robbed a little over a week ago. This is part of a note included in an email they sent today (an email that was primarily tour updates for several Daptone performers, incidentally).
Have I mentioned how awesome Daptone is?

Sharing Setlists From Concerts Has Never Been... →
Setlist.fm is not an entirely new service, but it seems to have flown under the radar of most major blogs. It lets anyone create a setlist (a list of songs played by a band at a concert) and share it with the world.
Setlists, while not that important to the casual listener, are bread and butter for the concert-going crowd; they’re thoroughly discussed, dissected and analyzed. However, to find...

Awesome.
I just learned about the differences between liquidity and solvency crises. Look out — I know almost enough about finance to be dangerous these days.
Please enable comments [Redux]
Have I mentioned lately that if you ask open-ended questions on your tumblog, and you actually want people to respond, you should enable comments? ‘Cause, otherwise, it’s hard to talk to you.

help? what do i do with it?
I’m with Whit. I use last.fm to track what I’m listening to and that’s about it. I don’t use the website for music discovery at all. If I didn’t have Tumblr, Hype Machine, and Blip.fm in addition to the huge number of music blogs and podcasts I like,...
My Disqus comments appear to have fixed themselves overnight! Yay! Here’s to ignoring the problem and hoping for the best. (JK, JK…)

Andy pointed to this post earlier today. Great read.
Disqus comments are broken on my tumblog right now. I’m sure it has something to do with my domain name change, but I can’t figure out how to fix it and I’m super frustrated. I hope they just magically start working again. Blah.
New Burial! →
Hyperdub founder and dubstep luminary Kode9 played an hour-long “hyperdub label showcase” on BBC Radio late last night/early this morning. In addition to spinning some super tight unreleased new stuff coming soon on the label, dude inconspicuously dropped the world premiere of a couple new untitled and unfinished Burial tunes into his set. According to Kode9, they’ll appear on Burial’s...

whitneymcn: BoH I love you, but you're bringing me...
Whit wrote the following response to my post on Band of Horses this morning. He’s absolutely right: there are a bunch of bands engaging with fans on Twitter and other platforms in awesome ways. Gabriel’s list of artists on Twitter is a great roundup. (See the Pitchfork story here, by the way.)
I hope bands like BoH that are just wading into social media will take the time to figure...
BoH I love you, but you're bringing me down
I awoke this morning to the message: Band of Horses is now following you on Twitter! Woo! I love Band of Horses and didn’t even know the band was on Twitter. I clicked through to the profile page to discover a single tweet, posted yesterday.
SWEET. They’re tweeting music. How awesome will it be to have surprise BoH tracks appear in my twitterstream? Return follow.
Only, after...

Street Art Locator
Awesome! I tried this out and posted a couple of my recent Philly sightings here and here.
I love the idea, but I wish it were a Flickr mashup. I already post all my street art sightings to Flickr — it would be cool if this tool allowed me to grab all my photos tagged with “street art” (or similar), add a description + geocoding if necessary, and drop them on the map.
Hope to...
