Buckminster Fuller at the Whitney
I’m hoping to see the Buckminster Fuller exhibit at the Whitney this coming Sunday morning. I’ve heard great reviews.
From the exhibition guide:
One of the great American visionaries of the twentieth century, R. Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983) endeavored to see what he, a single individual, might do to benefit the largest segment of humanity while consuming the minimum of the...
OBAMA-KENNEDY
Unreasonable. But, damn, “Obama-Kennedy” sounds good.
An Open Letter to Caroline Kennedy (head of the Obama VP search team) from Michael Moore
Dear Caroline,
We’ve never met, so I hope you don’t find this letter too presumptuous or inappropriate. As its contents involve the public’s business, I am sending this to you via the public on the Internet. I knew your...

This is a very cool video for the new The War on Drugs single directed by Mark Schoneveld of Philadelphia’s Poverty Jet Set Productions. Made entirely of clips from the Prelinger Archive of Moving Image, Mark combines images of mid-century American progress with those of indigenous life and ceremony to powerful effect. Great track too.

Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. - Chris Brown - Forever
This is not cool. Chris Brown’s hit single “Forever” is currently #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It’s a standard pop R&B tune with good dance beats, club synth, and a catchy hook. Turns out, though: that catchy hook was conceived as an advertising jingle for Wrigley Gum. Listen close, Brown is singing “Double your pleasure, double your...

ZACH CONDON & KOCANI ORKESTAR - Sunday Smile & Siki Siki Baba
Live music doesn’t get any better than this. I saw the 15-piece West Philadelphia Orchestra play last night in a sweaty West Philly basement. Siki Siki Baba is wicked fun no matter where you are.
